If the call to become a doctor has

family roots, it may explain our Dr. Michael

Lewis’ decision to become an Ophthalmologist.

Turns out that Dr. Lewis’ great grandfather

was a John Hopkins trained physician

who made his rounds throughout upstate New

York in a horse-and-buggy. Dr. Lewis, the

oldest of five kids, identified with his great

grandfather and began his medical training at

the renowned St. Louis University School

of Medicine.
