Board Certified Optometric Physician
Dr. Denise Foran Billings received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry (formerly Ferris State University, College of Optometry) magna cum laude in 1982. She was nominated and accepted as a Fellow in The American Academy of Optometry (AAO) in 1999. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages! Dr. Billings has decades of experience seeing patients, fitting contact lenses and working with Low Vision patients. She treats each patient as she would a family member, with respect, compassion and kindness.
Dr. Billings has two miracle babies now age 24 and 23. Beau, 24, will finish medical school soon and go on to become an ophthalmologist. Elizabeth, 23, is applying to medical school with plan B of Physician Assistant (PA) or Physical Therapist. Dr. Billings’ husband is also Dr. Billings, an optometrist in Sarasota. The family loves to travel especially to Michigan to see family, Colorado to see friends and internationally to gain ‘eye opening’ experiences.
One of the first things Dr. Billings did when moving to Florida was to take scuba diving lessons. She and her husband, Rick, enjoyed many colorful underwater experiences. Dr. Billings also enjoys reading, artwork and cooking. Like Dr. Quigley, she also received the Betty Crocker award in High School.
I love being outside whether it’s the beach, hiking in the woods, skiing in Colorado or pontoon boat riding in Michigan. Thankfully, my family loves the outdoors too! We spend a lot of our time together in the Great Outdoors!
